Rockhoppers - Junior Climbing Club

The Centre has a Junior Climbing Club for young people between the ages of 8 - 17years, called Rockhoppers. The sessions are blocks of 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 weeks depending on the length of the school term period and should be booked in advance like the normal Centre courses. These sessions are very popular and your child may need to go on the waiting list depending on thier age and availabilty.

The Rockhopper sessions are planned around the new NICAS scheme which is described on this page. Any Rockhopper attendee can sign up for the scheme and they will then have a logbook to record their weekly progress.

The National Indoor Climbing Achievement Scheme (NICAS) is a UK wide scheme designed to promote climbing development and accredit individual achievement on artificial climbing structures. It can be used as a starting point for people wishing to take up climbing and mountaineering.
